A new and novel physiological assessment of the flow of tears through the lacrimal and  nasolacrimal system.

The incidence of non-ocular malignancies in patients who have undergone orbital exenterations.

Miss Obi is actively involved in presenting in medical regional, national and international meetings such as the British Oculoplastic Surgeons society, EU Cornea, The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, Scottish Ophthalmic Club, South Wales Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Society and Welsh Ophthalmic Forum.

As part of the above, other study and work undertaken, I have been awarded multiple prize awards (Distinctions, Merits, Best Presenter, etc)

About Me

Miss Obi trained at the Royal Free Hospital and University College School of Medicine, University College London, UK, qualifying with distinction in 2001, achieving both her Medical degree and a Degree in Anatomy and Developmental Biology.

Specialist Training in ophthalmology commenced in 2004. She gained extensive experience in further training posts for each of the subdivisions within ophthalmology in England, Wales & Scotland, gaining a vast wealth of experience in each region. During her specialist training she passed her MRCSEd exams (Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh). At the end of her specialist training she passed her FRCOphth exam and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologist, London, in 2013. She received her Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in 2014.

Miss Obi has undertaken two advanced higher specialist training fellowship programs in oculoplastic, lacrimal and orbital surgery at both University of Leicester Hospitals, Leicester, Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading and Prince Charles Eye Unit, Windsor. Miss Obi is a consultant based at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, South Wales.

She is actively involved in teaching undergraduates and clinical research.  Her areas of expertise include small incision cataract surgery, oculoplastic, lacrimal and orbital surgery as well as general ophthalmology.
